At Phillip Riley we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.
As the Geotechnical Engineer you will be responsible for dealing with the mechanics of soil and rock and its applications to engineering elements.
Main tasks will include:
Responsibilities
Analyse, design and construct man-made structures or systems that are made of or are supported by soil or rock.
Identify, design and implement practical solutions to engineering problems concerning soil, rock and groundwater.
Apply scientific and engineering techniques to predict and manage the behaviour of the ground where it interacts with or responds to human activity.
Plan, direct and conduct survey work to analyse the likely behaviour of soil and rock when placed under pressure by proposed structures, and designs above and below ground foundations.
Obtain soil and rock samples at different depths across sites and test samples to determine strength, compressibility and other factors that affect the behaviour of soil and rock when a structure is imposed and determine safe loading for the soil.

Salary
Salary: $87,500 - $107,500 + Superannuation
