Our Medical Reports Officer roles offer the opportunity to apply your medical knowledge in a structured, analytical role without the demands of clinical work. You’ll review medical documentation, interpret DVA legislation, and contribute to accurate and comprehensive reports in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

ABOUT US

We are a rapidly growing and unique medical service designed to assist former and current Defence personnel plan their transition from military to civilian life. As a medical service that was established by Veterans for Veterans, we aim to compliment established medical and ex-service organisations by assisting with DVA Claims, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports and ADF Transition Medicals.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We have two positions available where you’ll review medical documentation, interpret DVA legislation, and contribute to accurate and concise reports in a dynamic and supportive team environment. Whilst you must be able to interpret and understand medical information, you will be provided with full on the job training encompassing our end-to-end process.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake analysis and review of medical statements, medical charts, specialist and imaging reports, government documents and resources.

* Apply your medical knowledge/experience in conjunction with DVA legislation to generate comprehensive medico-legal reports.

* Take a proactive approach to problem solving, providing solutions to enhance the accuracy and completeness of reports.

* Utilise your prior skills/training to identify any potential deficiencies in available data.

* Work congruently within a small team, and when required, liaise with other teams within AVHS

* The ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines and timeframes.

Essential Criteria

* Degree/Diploma in a health-related field (Allied Health, Paramedicine, Nursing, Exercise Physiology, Podiatrist, Dentist etc.)

* Intermediate-Advanced computer literacy (we are a 90%+ paper free office)

* Ability to work within a team & meet deadlines

* Commitment to confidentiality & professionalism

Desirable Criteria

* Prior experience in undertaking/ writing medico-legal assessments/report writing will be highly regarded.

* Knowledge of DVA claims process
