We are currently seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to support APD Global in a wide range of HR functions, with a particular focus on employee relations and performance management.

As part of our partnership with SNM Consulting, we are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to deliver comprehensive HR support across multiple areas, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective workforce management.
Role Overview
As a Senior HR Advisor, you will partner closely with the leadership team and department managers at APD Global to provide strategic and operational HR guidance across the organisation. This role will lead the delivery of key people initiatives while supporting leaders and employees through complex employee relations matters, performance management, and organisational change.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring people practices align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with Australian employment legislation. The role will also play a key part in managing workforce transitions, including restructures and terminations, while promoting a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Employee Relations & Performance Management
o Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on performance management, helping to drive a culture of continuous feedback and improvement.
o Support managers with coaching and guidance on handling employee issues, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
o Facilitate conflict resolution processes and mediate employee disputes to maintain a harmonious work environment.
o Provide guidance on managing employee performance issues, helping to address problems early to avoid escalation.
* Workforce Transitions & Terminations
o Assist managers with managing workforce changes, including handling terminations, layoffs, and restructures in a fair and compliant manner.
o Ensure that terminations are conducted with sensitivity, transparency, and in adherence to company policies and legal requirements under Australian employment law.
o Conduct exit interviews to gain valuable feedback on employee experiences and identify areas for improvement.
o Support managers through the termination process, ensuring that all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
* Compliance & Documentation
o Ensure compliance with Australian labor laws and legislation, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), and relevant state/territory laws across all HR practices, particularly in terminations and employee relations.
o Maintain accurate records of employee cases, separations, and any other HR-related documentation.
o Monitor trends in employee relations, turnover, and performance metrics to proactively address potential issues.
Key Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* 7–10+ years of HR experience, with significant exposure to employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
* Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations cases and workplace investigations.
* Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation including the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and National Employment Standards (NES).
* Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence decision-making on people matters.
* Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgement.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* HR certification such as Australian HR Institute (AHRI) membership or certifications (e.g., AHRI Certified Professional - CAHRI).
* Experience working in a consulting or client-facing HR role.
* Familiarity with specific state/territory employment laws and regulations in Australia.
* Successful candidates will be required to complete a medical assessment and provide a police clearance.
