Practice Manager - Veterinary Clinic

GVC are looking for an experienced Practice Manager for our Veterinary client based in Melbourne's East. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager. Our client operates a well-established small animal practice, located in Furntree Gully. The practice provide exceptional and professional veterinary care to pets and their owners. They have a strong reputation among a loyal client base for providing high standards of care and treatment, as well as an exceptional client experience.

This opportunity is based in their Ferntree Gully practice and reports directly to the Hospital Director. We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager with surgical Nursing skills, who can manage and support the clinic and the employees.

This well established & highly regarded clinic is a family-owned purpose-built hospital and has a friendly, hardworking, supportive work culture in a fun & supportive environment. The teams comprises of 4 veterinarians and 8 nurses & support staff.

About the role:

- Managing the day-to-day operational requirements of running a veterinary hospital/clinic in conjunction with the Hospital Director
- Surgical nursing duties
- In conjunction with the Hospital Director, oversee the financial administration of the hospital and reaching budget expectations (including rostering and the approval of the payroll)
- Implementing and driving local marketing initiatives
- Ensure there is strong communication amongst the team and driving the team to meet their goals
- Ensuring practice meetings are held monthly
- In conjunction with the Hospital Director, conduct annual veterinary staff performance evaluations, including identification of training and development needs and provide constructive feedback
- Coordinate with Hospital Director to resolve staff problems, performance concerns, and conflicts
- Recruitment and induction of new team members as required
- Develop and implement Work Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation.

What you will need to bring:

- Excellent time management, organisational skills and ability to work towards deadlines is essential
- Great rapport building with both colleagues and clients
- Proven background as a Practice Manager in a busy and fast paced environment is essential
- Multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Business administration qualification or Diploma of Practice Management preferred but not essential.
