About The Role
South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (SWBIRS) is a specialist rehabilitation service supporting people with acquired brain injuries across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. Our services include allied health assessments, therapy, education, and rehabilitation coordination. We offer both community outreach and centre-based programs. Our multidisciplinary Allied Health team works in close partnership with Rehabilitation Physicians to deliver high-quality rehabilitation and rehabilitation coordination.
Role
As a Speech Pathologist with Murrumbidgee Local Health District, you will deliver assessment, intervention and rehabilitation coordination for adults and children across our District. In this role you will focus on delivering expert assessments and intervention for clients with cognitive and communication disorders.
You'll work across a variety of settings, including:
Onsite clinics
Outreach visits to rural communities
Telehealth appointments
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will take on rehabilitation coordination for a designated caseload of clients. This involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor individualised rehabilitation plans – ensuring seamless, client-centred care across all stages of recovery.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate
Tertiary Qualification in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in assessment and management of clients with an acquired brain injury in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Experience providing community-based rehabilitation coordination and/or case management to people with complex needs.
Ability to independently manage clinical caseload and prioritise appropriately in conjunction with the overall team to ensure clients are seen within an appropriate timeframe.
