About Role:
UGL are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead, coordinate and oversee the execution of critical civil works within an operating Chevron LNG facility. The role serves as the primary company focal point for all civil construction activities, ensuring alignment between contractors, engineering, operations and project stakeholders.
The superintendent will manage civil construction including earthworks, steel piling, foundations, plinths, pile caps and concrete slabs, executed within a live gas plant environment requiring strong SIMOPS control.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of UGL Operations
* Enforce policies, procedures, and standards.
* Act as the focal point for civil operations, resolving issues and guiding contractors/teams.
* Manage resources (manpower, materials, and scheduling).
* Oversee onsite contractors for safe, efficient, and compliant delivery.
* Supervise earthworks, excavation, ground improvement, piling, and structural works.
SIMOPS & Live-Plant Execution
* Coordinate daily SIMOPS for safe integration with plant operations.
* Act as the UGL/Chevron interface for PTW, isolations, permits, and work sequencing.
* Manage conflicts, interfaces, and hazard mitigation.
Contractor Oversight & Field Supervision
* Monitor contractor compliance with plans, safety, quality, and schedule.
* Conduct inspections, prestart meetings, toolbox talks, and verify site readiness.
* Ensure contractor accountability for progress, performance, and productivity.
Safety Leadership
* Advocate Chevron OE and UGL safety systems on civil work fronts.
* Ensure compliance with PTW, JHAs, lift studies, and SIMOPS requirements.
* Lead safety engagements and behavioural-based observations.
Quality, Technical Assurance & Compliance
* Approve ITPs, method statements, and technical documents.
* Verify and maintain QA/QC records (e.g., pile logs, tests, reports).
* Resolve engineering queries, deviations, and technical issues.
Coordination, Planning & Reporting
* Serve as the central coordinator between contractors and stakeholders.
* Contribute to planning, progress tracking, and risk reporting.
* Manage sequencing, permits, access, and prerequisites to preserve schedules.
* Communicate issues and solutions to stakeholders.
Compliance, Safety & Reporting
* Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
* Conduct audits and inspections; promote a strong safety culture.
* Prepare progress and risk reports for stakeholders and leadership.
About you
* 10+ years of civil construction experience with at least 5 years in senior supervisory or superintendent roles.
* Extensive experience in LNG, gas plant, petrochemical or heavy industrial environments.
* Strong capability overseeing contractors in brownfields conditions.
* Proven technical competence in piling, foundations, structural concrete and earthworks.
* Skilled in managing SIMOPS, PTW and construction around operating infrastructure.
* High-level communication and leadership skills, capable of acting as the company focal point for all civil matters.
* Construction White Card and valid driver's licence.
Highly regarded:
* Previous Chevron (Wheatstone or Gorgon) experience.
* Civil engineering or construction management qualifications.
* Relevant high-risk and supervision certifications
