Community Development Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Community Development Specialist to join our team.
About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering community-based programs, including planning, coordinating activities, and recruiting participants. The specialist will mentor and support participants in improving their skills and developing employability skills to enhance employment outcomes.
The program aims to address barriers such as language, literacy, and numeracy, travel, and access to employer networks, enhancing education levels, community engagement, and socioeconomic outcomes. The role involves liaising with government departments, community organizations, and employers, as well as providing training and assessment as needed.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in training and assessment, general education, or related fields, and experience in delivering community-based programs. They will possess strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement, cultural understanding of diverse communities, and ability to handle unpredictable situations and behaviors.
Essential Criteria
* Qualifications in Training and Assessment, General Education, or related fields.
* Experience in delivering community-based programs like Skilling Queenslanders for Work.
* Coordination experience, preferably with vulnerable populations.
* Cultural understanding of CALD communities and their needs.
* Ability to understand labor market trends and barriers to employment.
* Capacity to handle unpredictable situations and behaviors.
* Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
