We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as Senior Engineer Critical Infrastructure reporting to Senior Manager CNI Engineering.
A bit about your role
The Senior Engineer is a specialised professional with significant experience in designing and delivering physical infrastructure solutions that meet the business needs and customer expectations. This role involves engineering the elements of critical physical infrastructure for NBN’s Network and Technology Sites, creating highly reliable, cost-effective solutions and documenting them in the internal engineering standards.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into compliant engineering solutions. The role also involves collaborating with Critical Infrastructure, Facilities, Network Capacity, and Technical Domain Teams, as well as external consultants and vendors to create, review and refine designs and bespoke hardware.
Strong leadership skills, technical expertise, business acumen and proactive engagement are essential to achieve success in a fast-paced environment. You will proactively drive the establishment of new Design Authority function, upskill other team members, define and document solutions for power supply, cooling, connectivity and fire protection.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate is skilled in designing and delivering complex solutions in the data centre/telecommunications industry, with a deep understanding of design principles and industry standards. Advanced documentation skills and the ability to create and maintain engineering and architecture artifacts are essential. Additionally, strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are required. You can demonstrate an expert level of knowledge in the data centre and Telco facility design overall and the Mechanical Engineering (cooling), AC and -48vDC power supply and distribution.
Experience with creating and reviewing facility designs, complex engineering diagrams, documents and specifications with great attention to detail is expected. A proven track record of successful completion of large data centre projects in the lead engineer role, and relevant industry certifications in Data Centre design (such as CDCE, DCDC, CDCDP) are beneficial.
