Senior Lead Culture & Engagement

* Join the Capability, Culture and Safety team within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport.
* Play a pivotal role in in driving behavioural change, strengthening organisational alignment, and ensuring all employees feel valued, supported and connected to the department's purpose.
* Clerk Grade 9/10 with a salary range of $ to - $ per annum plus superannuation.
* Ongoing role based in Sydney, NSW.

About the role

The Senior Lead, Culture & Engagement plays a key role in shaping a safe, inclusive, and high‑performing organisational culture across the department. Working in partnership with leaders and key stakeholders, this role is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of contemporary, evidence‑based strategies, policies and programs that enhance the employee experience and strengthen organisational capability.

This role leads a portfolio of work that drives cultural uplift across the department, ensuring alignment with NSW Government priorities, legislative requirements, and the department's strategic direction. The Senior Lead provides expert advice, builds strong relationships, and delivers wide ranging initiatives which enhance engagement, and foster a positive and vibrant workplace culture.

Key areas of focus include the development and implementation of culture and engagement strategies such as formal and informal recognition approaches management of end-to-end projects including the delivery and ongoing management of the NSW Public Sector People Matters Employee Survey and other feedback mechanisms; analysis and interpretation of employee feedback; and the delivery of impactful programs that address organisational needs and build workforce capability.

The position also champions continuous improvement by undertaking research, evaluating best practice, interpreting workforce data, and preparing insights and reports that inform decision-making, uplift organisational maturity and strengthen culture and engagement outcomes.

About You

You will bring knowledge of contemporary organisational development theories and practices to the role and have a proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based strategies, programs and initiatives that strengthen culture, and support a positive employee experience.

With strong project and program management capability, you have experience leading complex initiatives from concept to delivery. Your approach is proactive, collaborative and outcomes‑focused, enabling you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence cultural uplift across the organisation.

Essential requirements

* Tertiary qualifications in human resources, organisational psychology, organisational development, behavioural science, leadership and/or equivalent professional experience
