About the role
Fishheads Restaurant, Byron Bay is looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our vibrant team in Byron Bay. These postions are full time role will see you working closely with our Group Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What you'll be doing
* Planning menu, recipe development and food preparation
* Leading and supervising kitchen staff to ensure consistent, high-quality food delivery
* Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards
* Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as required
* Collaborating with the front-of-house team to provide exceptional customer service
* Continuously improving processes and procedures to increase kitchen efficiency
What we're looking for
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or 2 years Qualified Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, plating and presentation techniques
* Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a busy kitchen
* Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff
* Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients to create delicious, innovative dishes
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays as required
* Food safety and hygiene certification
