THE ROLE
The Database Support Specialist is a pivotal role within the Sydney Symphony Orchestra's new Lifecycle Marketing team whose mandate is to understand, engage, and grow our audiences. This position offers the unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with strategic influence to support audience engagement, marketing, and fundraising goals through effective management and optimisation of the Tessitura CRM system.
As the organisation's Tessitura lead, you'll play a central role in ensuring our customer data is accurate, secure, and leveraged to its fullest potential. You'll collaborate with and train users across the organisation helping staff make the most of Tessitura for reporting, analysis, and business decision‑making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee the Tessitura CRM database, ensuring stability, performance, and accuracy in collaboration with the Head of Lifecycle Marketing, Insights Analyst and external database service providers.
* Manage reporting, data extractions, and analysis to support marketing, fundraising, and business operations.
* Provide user support and training to staff across departments, ensuring effective use of Tessitura tools and processes.
* Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and other reporting interfaces.
* Monitor and improve data hygiene, ensuring integrity and consistency across customer records and transaction data.
* Perform regular system maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and integration testing.
* Troubleshoot technical and user issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
* Manage system customisations and enhancements in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
* Support and document best practices, workflows, and policies for database usage.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Demonstrated experience administering and supporting Tessitura or a similar CRM/database system.
* Strong knowledge of SQL, data structures, and relational databases.
* Experience with reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, and data visualisation.
* Ability to work across both the backend (data management, configuration, system integrity) and frontend (user interface, reporting, support).
* Proven ability to troubleshoot system and user issues effectively and independently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support users across all levels of the organisation.
* Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation practices.
* Experience in the arts, not‑for‑profit, or ticketing environment using Tessitura is highly regarded.

WHAT WE OFFER
* Salary $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
