This hands-on position supports the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, where you’ll assist in both routine and specialised testing, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes that uphold SGS’s reputation for excellence.Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:With minimal supervision and a degree of independence, initiative and judgment, undertake routine and non-routine analysis using wet chemistry and instrumentation techniques in the inorganic section.Understand general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination and protect the company’s assets.Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with the written procedures.Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on-the-job training to support improvement.Ensure that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly and used at all times.Report immediately any unsafe work condition or equipment to the supervisor.Perform other duties as directed by the section supervisor.QualificationsAppropriate tertiary qualification, TAFE certificates minimumExperience in a general laboratory environment preferredFlexibility with working hours and tasksAdditional InformationWHY WORK FOR SGS?Working at SGS means joining an innovative, Global company.
