Job Description – Early Learning Support Officer, SEO1 (0000B698)

Multiple temporary full-time appointments for a period of 24 months up to 30 January 2028

Location: Parramatta with flexible working arrangements

About Early Learning

The Early Learning team fulfils the responsibility on behalf of the department as the approved provider for NSW public preschools. We work in partnership with public preschools to offer safe, positive and engaging learning environments so all children can make a strong start in life and transition successfully to school. We support public preschools to understand and meet the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF), including compliance with the National Law and Regulations, and meeting or exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS).


About the position

The role provides advice and guidance on quality early learning programs and initiatives in NSW public preschools and supports the implementation of state and national priorities for early learning. This includes support and guidance to establish 100 new public preschools, co-located with primary schools in NSW.

Please be advised that the Department may direct you to undertake classroom teaching and lesson preparation as required.

Eligibility – Right of Return

For permanent teachers in a NSW public school taking up a non-school based temporary appointment, the right of return to their substantive position is for up to 3 years.


Child-related role – Working with Children Check

As a condition of employment, you will be required to provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number and complete a National Criminal Record Check.

Remuneration

Total Remuneration Package: $182,921. Package includes salary ($149,059–$161,377), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
