About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Gardener/Handyperson to join our team, reporting directly to the Repairs & Maintenance Manager. This hybrid role is primarily focused on maintaining the hotel's gardens, landscaping, alfresco areas, and two pool zones to the highest standard. You'll also provide general maintenance support across the property, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests. This is a fantastic opportunity for an all-rounder who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in presentation, and has a proactive approach to property care.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain all garden, pool, alfresco, and external landscaping areas, including plant care
* Perform regular watering, pruning, weeding, fertilising, and pest control
* Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently
* Keep pathways, courtyards, and outdoor areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free
* Collaborate with Engineering and Housekeeping teams to uphold hotel standards
* Provide general repairs and maintenance support to hotel rooms and facilities
* Carry out tasks such as painting, grouting, tiling, silicone work, and basic landscaping
* Liaise with multiple departments to coordinate maintenance and repair works
* Ensure all work complies with WHS, fire safety, hygiene, and environmental policies
* Participate in preventative maintenance schedules and emergency response as needed
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
* Basic handyperson skills across painting, tiling, grouting, and general repairs
* Ability to operate and maintain garden machinery and tools
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and be on-call for emergencies
