The Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will advise on suitable experiments and demonstrations to support teaching and curriculum outcomes for science classes. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing chemicals, equipment, and materials.
- Designing and constructing teaching aids.
- Collecting and caring for living organisms in compliance with chemical, physical, and biological laboratory practices and legislative requirements.
- Organising preparation areas and classroom laboratories to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Maintaining a safe and accountable learning environment that supports Lesmurdie SHS core values: Curiosity, Aspiration, Respect, and Workplace.

Eligibility
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Obtaining a valid Working With Children Check before employment.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtaining a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before employment.

- Demonstrated good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organisational and time‑management skills and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated well‑developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
