Role Overview
This fixed-term position is available for 36 months, providing an excellent chance to contribute to cross-disciplinary activities within the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering (EME).
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and operating advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes. This role offers a unique blend of experimental design, technical expertise, and collaboration with leading institutions.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity is part of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) project, which aims to support Australian health and medical research. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging your skills in photonics, optics, electronics, biomedical engineering, opto-mechanical systems, software engineering, and image processing.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability in at least three of these areas and hold a PhD in electrical, software, optical, biomedical engineering or physics or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and operate advanced laboratory and technical equipment to enhance research outcomes.
2. Contribute to cross-disciplinary activities within EME and collaborate with leading institutions.
3. Work effectively as a team player, preferably within a cross-disciplinary team.
4. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the expectations of performing research in a commercial setting.
