Are you passionate about supporting young people's mental health?

The Department of Education is looking for school-based psychologists for the Central Queensland Region. Full time, part time, permanent and temporary positions available. Provisional psychologists are welcome to apply. Relocation costs can be considered for the right candidate.

This position will be based at Glenmore State High School.

About the Role:

The Student Wellbeing Workforce is about making sure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to meaningful wellbeing support, right where they need it — at school.

In this role, you'll work directly with students experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns, providing early intervention and therapeutic support that can make a real difference to their learning, engagement, and everyday wellbeing. You'll be part of the school's established student support team, working collaboratively with educators and other professionals to strengthen the support around each child and young person.

This position is well suited to provisional psychologists and early-career psychologists, with structured supervision provided. Supervision toward the internship program and clinical registrar program can also be supported. Students currently completing their studies are warmly encouraged to apply, making this a great opportunity to build experience, confidence, and impact in a supportive school-based environment.

This is a school-based position and travel may be a required element of the role.

Responsibilities include:

* Provide therapeutic support for students with mild to moderate mental health support needs
* Work collaboratively with school based teams to support student wellbeing through both individual, group and whole school wellbeing programs;
* Maintaining adequate records and track data as required
* Providing professional development opportunities for teachers and parents around mental health interventions and supports;
* Follow your professional code of ethics to maintain privacy and confidentiality of student information.

Applicants are required to have:

* Good communication skills
* Flexibility
* Knowledge of case formulation and intervention models
* Clear therapeutic framework and professional practice strategies

Benefits:

* Regular supervision, with weekly supervision provided for the first three months (general registered, those undergoing internships or registrar program will be provided with pro-rata supervision to meet AHPRA requirements).
* Comprehensive induction
* The ability to accrue extra leave to take time off during the school holidays
* Access to fleet vehicles for travel requirements
* Regular peer supervision
* Laptop provided
* 12.75% Superannuation
* Professional Development Allowance
* Salary Sacrificing options
* Leave loading
* Internal Professional Development
* Relocation supports available for the right applicant

Interested? To Apply:

* Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)
* Attach a 2-page written statement in response to the attached role description
* Attach a copy of your mandatory qualifications/registration outlined in the attached role description

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.

Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.
