About the role: We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team and contribute to the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) Program. This program provides free nonclinical, community-based supports aimed at facilitating and maintaining recovery for people experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. As a Community Support Worker, you will offer one-on-one and group support (in some areas) to assist recovery, build skills for independent living, and help participants contribute to their communities. This position is a Maximum Term (2 yrs) Full Time role located in Armidale. You will be required to travel across the region. There will be access to a work pool car, laptop and mobile phone for work purposes. Key responsibilities (but not limited to): Supporting people with a mental health issue to access the community Provide case co-ordination for individuals Establish positive relationships with the clients, staff and other organisations Promote Anglicare’s services in a positive manner Assess client safety, planning, and intervening where appropriate, by ensuring the well-being of the client Reporting – ensure that reports are prompt and an accurate record of observations, risks, interactions and dynamics About you: Tertiary education, Cert 3 or above in social work, psychology/community services/mental health.
