Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Hospitality Coordinator to oversee the delivery of high‑quality hospitality services across multiple Council-operated venues.

This role plays a key part in ensuring exceptional customer experiences, consistent service standards, and efficient operations across our diverse hospitality sites, including the Oasis Aquatic Centre, Jim Elphick Tennis Centre, Wagga Wagga Airport, and the Livestock Marketing Centre.

The position also supports the coordination and delivery of catering for internal Council events, meetings, and programs.

Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week).Remuneration package of $3,522.78 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,227.34 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).Ongoing training and development opportunities.Generous leave entitlements.

This Position Will Be Responsible For

Overseeing daily hospitality operations across Council venues, ensuring smooth, efficient, and customer‑focused service delivery.Managing the preparation, presentation, and quality of food and beverage offerings across all sites.Coordinating and delivering catering services for internal Council functions, including training sessions, meetings, official openings, and Directorate events.Monitoring operational and labour budgets to ensure efficient and responsible use of resources.Managing stock control, ordering, and purchasing across all hospitality outlets.Overseeing contractor and preferred supplier agreements to ensure compliance and value for money.Ensuring responsible service of alcohol across Council’s licensed venues.Leading and supporting casual staff to deliver high‑quality customer service and uphold Council’s service standards.Maintaining high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security across all hospitality environments.Assisting with administrative tasks and operational documentation as required.Marketing and delivery of catering services for external events.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications and Licences:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent Service of Alcohol (RSA) and NSW Food Safety Supervisor (FSS).Current First Aid Certificate and CPR C Driver Licence.Barista training (desirable).

Skills And Experience

Demonstrated experience in hospitality operations, including preparing and serving espresso‑based beverages in a fast‑paced environment.Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and supporting staff.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and negotiate effectively.Proven ability to deliver high‑quality customer service.Experience managing stock, suppliers, and operational budgets.Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health & Safety requirements relevant to hospitality to work a flexible roster, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.Demonstrated experience in preparation, handling and presentation of food.
