Family Counsellor / Case Manager

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to join our team in a role that provides vital counselling and support services to children up to 17 years of age and their families. This position plays a key part in promoting the wellbeing and safety of children by delivering family-focused interventions guided by Best Interest Principles.
As part of the Inner Gippsland Integrated Family Services Alliance, you will work collaboratively with a network of dedicated professionals to provide effective counselling and case management to families experiencing complex challenges. Your work will be informed by the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and aligned with the established frameworks and practice standards of West Gippsland Healthcare Group and the Inner Gippsland Family Services Alliance.
In this role, you will engage directly with families to understand their needs, develop therapeutic goals, and implement short to medium-term interventions that address a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, family violence, and behavioural concerns. You will take a holistic approach to assessment and intervention, considering the social, emotional, physical, developmental, cultural, and gender needs of each client.

Our preferred candidate will have:
* Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or similar with relevant professional registration or willingness to obtain.
* Experience in family, child and individual counselling and casework.
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
* Post Graduate qualifications in counselling or related area.
* Membership of an accredited body.
IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
