Emergency Physician/FACEM/Consultant Position
The Emergency Physician/FACEM/Consultant is responsible for delivering expert emergency medical care and facilitating the efficient movement of patients through the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strong clinical leadership during clinical shifts, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
* Supervise the work of Registrars and Junior Medical Officers (JMOs), while actively contributing to the education of junior doctors and medical students.
* Collaborate with other Health specialists when appropriate, and participate in after-hours and weekend service provision.
Department Overview:
The Emergency Department features:
* 36 bed ED – increased from 18
* Three state-of-the-art resuscitation bays
* A Behavioural Assessment room, mental health consult spaces, forensic room
* Two negative pressure isolation cubicles
* Nine additional acute care cubicles
* A dedicated Fast Track area with seven cubicles and a consultation room
* A nine bed Short Stay Unit, including one isolation room
* A CT scan room, ultrasound room and two new X-Ray rooms
Classification:
The position offers:
* Annual Staff Specialist Base Salary: Year 1 ($262,099) – Year 9 ($360,391)
* Annual Continuing Medical Education Allowances: $30,468.29
* Plus superannuation
* Plus further allowances following the AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
* Specialist Registration with AHPRA as a FACEM
* IMG's eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
* SIMG's assessed by ACEM College as Substantially comparable will be considered (doctors currently interviewing with ACEM may express their interest)
* Doctors that will be awarded the fellowship (FACEM) in the next 6 months are encouraged to apply
