Council is establishing a casual relief pool to supplement our existing Waste and Recycling Truck Driver team. You will be provided full training and must be willing to be flexible with shifts offered. The shifts may be between 10-30 hours per week, subject to availability. Work hours are between 5:00 am - 5:00 pm, 7 days a week.
About the Role
This position plays a key role in assisting and working as part of a team to safely operate waste collection vehicles, providing and delivering an effective, timely, and efficient waste collection service to Townsville City Council customers. This role aims to achieve a clean, hygienic, and aesthetically acceptable environment throughout Townsville.
About You
* Current Queensland “HR” class driver’s license.
* Ability to competently operate and perform maintenance on waste collection vehicles.
* Experience in waste collection.
* Demonstrated ability and experience with the operation of waste collection plant used by Waste Services.
* Ability to read, comprehend, and write words and numbers as part of reporting systems.
* Knowledge of servicing, pre-start, and shutdown requirements of the plant, including trucks and attached machinery.

The Council’s contribution to superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of ordinary time earnings, with a minimum employee contribution of 6%.
