Lead Unsealed Roads Operations Manager
Rural local government seeks a proactive and experienced Operations Manager – Unsealed Roads to oversee their road maintenance and construction teams.
1. Manage and supervise road maintenance and construction teams, ensuring adherence to the Road Management Plan and safety protocols
2. Operate various equipment including graders, rollers, backhoes, excavators, and chainsaws
3. Promote safety by completing SWMS, conducting site inductions, and managing traffic control measures
4. Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment usage, and work executed
5. Collaborate with other departments and assist across sectors as required
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in civil engineering or road maintenance, especially unsealed roads
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills
* Competency in operating plant and machinery (grader, roller, backhoe, excavator, etc.)
* Sound understanding of OH&S and environmental regulations
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* A current driver's license (HR or higher preferred)
* Relevant tickets and qualifications such as Traffic Management and First Aid (highly desirable)
