Senior Accountant / Experienced Intermediate Accountant- Business Services & Advisory | Brisbane
An AFR Top 30 firm, coming off an impressive year of growth, is expanding its Business Services team and looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant or Senior Accountant who wants meaningful client exposure, trusted responsibility, and clear progression, not just another compliance-heavy role.
The Opportunity:
You'll join a fast-paced, high-performing advisory environment working closely with privately owned businesses, family groups, and high-net-worth individuals. This role offers genuine client contact, commercial exposure, and the opportunity to step into a leadership pathway without being micromanaged.
You'll have the opportunity to manage your own client portfolio and become a trusted point of contact, providing practical advice across compliance, structuring, growth, and business decisions. Beyond day-to-day accounting, you'll gain exposure to acquisitions, divestments, financial modelling, succession planning, and proactive tax strategies.
You'll also play an important role within the team, reviewing work, supporting junior accountants, and collaborating closely with Managers and Partners to keep workflows efficient and standards high.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Managing a portfolio of Business Services clients end-to-end
* Preparing financial statements and tax returns (companies, trusts, individuals, SMSFs)
* Providing practical, commercial advice beyond core compliance
* Supporting tax planning, restructures, and advisory projects
* Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members
* Working closely with Managers and Partners
* Staying across legislative and regulatory changes
About You:
This role will suit someone who enjoys responsibility, client interaction, and being part of a firm that's growing and investing in its people.
* 3-5+ years' experience in Business Services
* CA or CPA qualification (or well progressed)
* Confidence in managing your own workflow and client relationships
* Strong communication skills and a commercial mindset
* A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team culture
* Exposure to mentoring or reviewing work (or readiness to step into it)
