Duration: From 29 September 2025 to 30 June 2026, with potential extension by agreement

About the Role
The Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General (OOSGG) is transitioning ICT services from an internal arrangement to a shared services model with the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS). We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Manager with a proven record of delivering ICT projects within the Australian Public Sector.
This role will lead the planning and execution of the ICT shared services transition, while also providing leadership, technical guidance, and operational management to the in-house ICT team (currently four staff).
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with the agency's business objectives.
* Oversee and manage the transition of ICT services to DPS, ensuring continuity of services, value for money, and delivery of a fit-for-purpose solution.
* Provide expert advice to OOSGG stakeholders on ICT transition and strategy.
* Collaborate with business leaders to capture technology requirements and ensure alignment with the transition work.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships between OOSGG and DPS, including negotiation and management of contracts and agreements.
* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, providing guidance on ICT matters.
* Ensure the security, reliability, and integrity of the agency's ICT systems and data, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information.
* Manage the daily operations of the ICT team, including staff management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a results-driven ICT Project Manager with a strong track record in government ICT delivery, particularly in transitions to shared services. They will be equally comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and managing ICT staff, and will bring both technical understanding and leadership capability to ensure this transition is successful.
