* Assist people with disabilities to prepare for meaningful sustainable employment
* Design, develop & facilitate activities aimed at building capacity & confidence
About the organisation :
Our client is a well-established, highly regarded, not-for-profit Disability Employment Services (DES) and NDIS provider that strives to empower people with disability, and those with mental health conditions, to develop confidence, talents, and skills, ensuring they are equipped to achieve their employment aspirations.
Working as trusted partner with job seekers and local employers, and as an advocate for an inclusive and diverse workforce, the organisation creates bespoke recruitment and training solutions to support Western Australians who face personal barriers and considerable challenges entering the workforce and maintaining employment, by assisting with pathways to meaningful and sustainable work.
About the role :
As an Employment Mentor, you will play a key role in ensuring jobseekers are adequately prepared to commence their job search journey, eventually leading them to secure sustainable employment.
The Mentor’s approach is multifaceted, involving undertaking case conferences, assessments and designing activity sessions to identify potential areas of work preparation with participants prior securing employment. Working collaboratively with Team Leaders and Employment Consultants, the Mentor will support and upskill each jobseeker’s capacity, capability, and confidence.
You will be professional and able to work within procedural guidelines, using a database to log detailed notes, and create progress reports on each jobseeker. The successful candidate will have a lively and engaging personality, and possess the confidence to present content to a small audience. Whilst previous experience working in DES and creating content and training would be highly regarded, neither is essential for the role.
The Mentor will work a hybrid role across Joondalup, Subiaco, Cockburn and East Victoria Park, and occasional work from home will be considered. Applicants must have a Drivers Licence and a reliable vehicle. The cost of work-related travel will be reimbursed.
In addition to a competitive base salary and superannuation, the successful candidate will be entitled to tax savings through salary packaging.
To be successful you should have :
o Previous experience in a similar role in Employment Services
o Proven experience in a training, mentorship, or coaching role
o Cert IV Training and Assessment will be highly regarded
o Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity and compassion
o Competent across Office 365, MS Teams, and SharePoint
o A results and outcome focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and deadlines
o Excellent time management and organisational ability
o Effective written and oral communication skills
o An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing neuro-diverse people, and those living with a permanent disability
o Relevant qualifications in training and assessment, counselling, psychology, or related fields will be advantageous
o The ability to obtain a clear check police and working with children’s check
