About This Role
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team, who will play a vital role in supporting individuals in the community.
As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of those you work with.
This position involves working across several programs, including Out of Home Care, providing supervised family visits.
You may be based at one of our offices or work from home, with access to a work pool car and other resources for work purposes.
Main Responsibilities:
* Providing supervised visits for children in foster care with their family members.
* Transporting children in care to appointments or visits.
* Mentoring children in foster care.
* Establishing positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and other organisations.
* Promoting our services in a positive manner.
* Awareness of client safety, planning, and intervening when necessary, ensuring the well-being of the client.
* Reporting - ensuring accurate records of observations, risks, interactions, and dynamics.
About You:
* Tertiary education or demonstrated equivalent experience and working towards a qualification in social work, psychology, community services, or mental health.
* A valid driver's license.
* Familiarity with mental health issues and their impacts on a person's life.
* Skills in establishing rapport, respectfully communicating expectations, and being assertive.
* Experience relating to and building rapport with people.
* Familiarity with the child protection system.
* Excellent observation, written, and verbal communication skills.
* The Working with Children's Check.
* A First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
