ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. In partnership with Serco and Bupa, we deliver defence‐ready clinical and support staff to over 50 on‐base locations nationwide, ensuring ADF personnel have access to quality on‐site medical care.
About The Role
As a psychologist in our multidisciplinary health centre, you will support the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from patients, medical teams, and Command, presenting a wide range of issues. Your responsibilities include initial intake and assessment, use of psychometrics, case management of externally referred cases, internal treatment delivery, and crisis management within a collaborative team.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
* The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
* Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Minimum 2 years post‐graduate experience in the last 5 years in a primary health or specialist mental health setting, including comprehensive assessment and delivery of evidence‐based strategies as defined under the Medicare Schedule.
* Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
* Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).
* Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018‐2023 (desirable).
About ACT Health Centre
The ACT Health Centre is a relatively new facility, opened in mid‐2021, combining Duntroon and Russell health centres. Approximately 7,000 military personnel attend, including trainee officers from ADFA and Royal Military College. Services include inpatient and outpatient care, dentistry, physiotherapy, and pharmacy. Operating hours are 07:00‐19:00 Monday‐Friday, with a 24/7 ward.
