Gympie Regional Council (GRC)
to recruit an experienced Coordinator Building & Facilities. This is a key prospect to lead the management of Council's diverse building assets from corporate offices to community halls, showgrounds, pools and public amenities ensuring safe, compliant and sustainable facilities for the community.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager Property & Open Space, you will act as the Asset Custodian for all Council buildings, providing both strategic oversight and operational leadership. You'll manage a multidisciplinary team, oversee long-term asset planning, and deliver proactive maintenance programs that meet legislative, safety and community expectations.
Key areas of focus include:
Leading and mentoring the Facilities Management & Maintenance team.
Overseeing delivery of building maintenance, statutory inspections and compliance programs.
Managing contracts, budgets and service level standards across a diverse asset base.
Providing high-level technical and project advice to Council and the Executive.
Driving continuous improvement in asset management, WH&S; compliance and digital systems.
About You
We're seeking a capable leader with:
Qualifications and/or extensive experience in building, asset or facilities management.
Strong knowledge of project management, risk management, budgeting and scheduling.
Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, contracts and compliance frameworks.
Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver high service standards.
Excellent communication and consultation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
