Location: Bathurst Correctional Centre

Employment type: Ongoing, Full time

Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6

Salary: $99,938 - $110,271 (plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

Your role

This role is responsible for applying evidence‑based case management practices to a diverse caseload of offenders, addressing varying levels of risk and need to maximise opportunities for intervention and reduce reoffending.

What you'll do

Key accountabilities

* Provide a broad range of case management services to offenders in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedural requirements.
* Administer evidence‑based assessments to inmates to determine appropriate intervention needs, plans, and strategies.
* Develop, implement and regularly update individualised case plans that outline short‑ and long‑term goals and strategies to reduce reoffending.
* Monitor, guide and motivate offenders through the case management process using techniques such as motivational interviewing, modelling pro‑social behaviours, and strengths‑based approaches.
* Refer inmates to suitable programs and services aligned with their identified case plan goals.
* Advocate on behalf of inmates to facilitate access to appropriate interventions and ensure timely follow‑up.
* Monitor, document and report on offender compliance with case plans and judicial or statutory requirements.
* Coordinate, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, effective reintegration planning to support offenders' transition back into the community.

What we're looking for

* Experience and/or relevant qualifications in case management, human services, or related fields.
* Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who may be facing complex challenges, including family, social, or alcohol and other drug‑related issues.
* Strong organisational and self‑management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Resilience and emotional intelligence to confidently navigate complex and sensitive situations within a custodial environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the motivation to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
* A current driver licence and a willingness to drive while performing the duties of the role.
