Overview
Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We provide services to inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, staff from five health services will transfer to Bayside Health, a newly merged health service. The merger aims to strengthen the workforce and provide new training, education and career opportunities.
Position
The role of the Mental Health Clinician is based at St Kilda Road and sits within the Community Mental Health Service (CMHT). This is a multidisciplinary team comprising approximately 20 clinicians including Consultant Psychiatrists, Registrars, Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include conducting community-based psychiatric assessments including risk assessment, providing care within the CMHT, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with severe mental illness.
Qualifications And Experience
* A current Registration with AHPRA/AASW, preferably with Psychiatric endorsements or equivalent.
* For Nursing applicants, postgraduate qualifications in psychiatric nursing are strongly preferred.
* Experience in a range of psychiatric interventions indicating ability to perform community-based psychiatric assessment including risk assessment.
* A current driver's licence is required to undertake this role.
