The Marketing and Communications Unit (MCU) is part of the Media and Marketing Section (MMS) which sits within the Governance and Capability Service (G&CS). G&CS contributes to SAPOL's vision of 'Safer Communities' by providing a unified executive and policy support function to the Commissioner of Police, and supporting effective engagement between SAPOL, its workforce and the community. The Service is responsible for the organisation's strategic focus on critical aspects of service delivery, performance and accountability.
MMS has the responsibility for providing timely and accurate information to the media and community relative to SAPOL's operations and issues affecting community safety and service delivery and is composed of MCU and the Media Unit. MCU is responsible for marketing, branding, internal communications, creative services and SAPOL's Digital Services Office (DSO).
The Manager, MCU reports to the Director, Media and Communications and manages communication to SAPOL employees, the community and stakeholders through the effective development and implementation of internal and external communication and marketing, which includes designing, coordinating, and delivering communication plans, campaigns, promotions, collateral, publications and internet/intranet content in support of SAPOL's 2030 strategy and operations.
The incumbent provides leadership and expert strategic and tactical advice both to direct reports and senior management on communications design, strategies and processes to ensure communication activities and assets are of excellent quality, timely and designed for impact. Supporting integrated multi-faceted communications, the MCU Manager has technical expertise and knowledge to effectively lead a highly-productive, multi-disciplinary team and effectively manage a busy roster of creative projects to inform and engage our internal and external customers and enhance SAPOL's brand and reputation. As the brand custodian, the position is responsible for the overall management and review of SAPOL's brand and providing quality assurance across the agency
The Manager, MCU also has strategic oversight of the Digital Services Office which is responsible for the development and ongoing support of key online platform applications (internet / intranet) available to the community of South Australia and SAPOL staff.

* The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
* Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
* The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
Salary
ASO8 - $121,107 - $125,679 per annum.
