About the Role: As a Fitter Machinist, you will show up each day with a sense of enthusiasm and commitment to helping ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest quality.
Responsibilities
* Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes.
* Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Ensure measurements and components meet required tolerances.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC lathes as needed.
* Undertake materials handling / processing and associated tasks with emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, cost, continuous improvement, delivery and environmental concerns.
* Participate in any required site and training service provider learning, training and skill development.
* Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and all Bradken Quality policies and procedures; participate where required in any quality audits.
* Assist and work with maintenance and engineering personnel where necessary.
* Coaching and mentoring apprentices and junior personnel as required.
* Support the Machine Shop with additional tasks as required.
About You
You will have the enthusiasm and self-drive to work to the highest standard. You will champion safety, mentor less experienced staff, and help deliver great results.
You will also have:
* 3 years' experience in a mechanical trade within a manufacturing environment (preferred).
* Knowledge of safe working procedures.
* Sound numeric reasoning.
* Ability to communicate in English.
* Knowledge of process improvement techniques (desirable).
