About the Fleet Technician Role
Fleet Technicians play a crucial part in ensuring our operational assets are well-maintained and functioning efficiently. This role involves regular travel to various locations, working on crane borers and EWP's.
As a Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out diagnostic testing, fault diagnosis, and maintenance repairs on heavy vehicle compliance requirements. You will also perform general mechanical and electrical work, including welding, machining, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fabrication tasks.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a mechanical trade background, as full training is provided. Our Fleet team manages over 3,600 highly specialized operational assets, traveling around 34 million kilometers per year. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a difference.
Responsibilities
* Carry out diagnostic testing and fault diagnosis of heavy vehicle compliance requirements
* Perform general mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs, including welding, machining, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fabrication work
* Conduct inspections, repairs, and adjustments to all fleet assets
* Responsible for heavy vehicle refits, maintenance, and repairs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Significant practical experience in heavy and light fleet operations, including plant and equipment used in the energy transmission and distribution environment
* Strong experience in heavy vehicle specialist engineering, hydraulics, pneumatic, auto electrics, welding, and fabrication
* Conversant with heavy and light vehicle standards and regulatory requirements for work in an energy transmission and distribution environment
* Knowledge of regulations pertaining to heavy and light fleet operations, particularly AS 2550.10, AS 1418.10, and RMS regulations
* Working knowledge of safe plant operations and procedures in an energy transmission and distribution environment
Qualifications
* Relevant mechanical-based trade qualifications
* Current NSW Driver's License
* WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
