We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst for a project with the Department of Defence.The role is for an experienced Business Analyst who will take responsibility for investigating business requirements and collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICT, Defence capability projects, and the One Defence Capability System. The successful candidate will work in a highly dynamic environment, contributing to key project milestones and outcomes.Candidates must have NV1 security clearance or higher and be adaptable to client needs while bringing their expertise to advise on best practices where relevant.Key Skills and Experience RequirementsMinimum 10 years of demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst role or equivalent subject matter expertise.Highly desirable: Experience in engaging and collaborating with a range of stakeholders.Experience in ICT systems and Defence capability projects, particularly with One Defence Capability System.Ability to adapt and collaborate flexibly with clients, while ensuring project outcomes are met.Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude, able to guide stakeholders and contribute effectively to a collaborative team.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Requirements Investigation: Take responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements.Process Improvement: Specify effective business processes through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisational change.Business Analysis Techniques: Select, adopt, and adapt appropriate business analysis methods, tools, and techniques. This may involve using predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches as required.Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders across the project lifecycle.Project Deliverables: Contribute to project milestones including, but not limited to:Capability One gate documentationInitial Material ReleaseMaterial Release(s)Initial Operating CapabilityFinal Material ReleaseFinal Operating CapabilityOther Tasks: As assigned by the Commonwealth Director or delegate to achieve Commonwealth and/or individual project outcomes.Working ArrangementsLocation: CanberraHours: Full-time role, 40 hours per week.Security ClearanceCandidates must have NV1 clearance.Period of EngagementEstimated Start Date: ASAPContract Duration: To be confirmed, with potential for extensions based on project needs.About the OrganisationThe Department of Defence is responsible for safeguarding Australia’s national interests and maintaining Defence capabilities.
