Job Description:
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing procurement activities across multiple mining sites nationally. This includes sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to meet operational requirements while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and process purchase requisitions, converting them into accurate and timely purchase orders.
* Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance.
* Ensure procurement documentation is complete and compliant.
* Collaborate with site teams to forecast and fulfill procurement needs.
* Resolve delivery, invoice, and supplier issues promptly.
* Support strategic sourcing and cost-saving initiatives.
* Maintain and update procurement systems and records.
Qualifications & Experience:
We seek an experienced purchasing professional who has
* a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in purchasing.
* Experience in the mining industry is highly desirable.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., Oracle).
