The Opportunity
Downer's Technology and Communications Services business is seeking a Town Planner Wireless to support major national mobile network deployment and upgrade programs. Based in Melbourne or Sydney, this role plays a key part in delivering town planning and acquisition outcomes across high volume wireless site programs. You will work closely with SA ED leadership, senior planners and engineering teams to secure planning approvals and navigate complex council, environmental and community requirements.
This is a hands on role in a fast paced environment, offering exposure to large scale infrastructure projects that help shape Australia's digital connectivity.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a collaborative and commercially minded Town Planner with experience working in telecommunications or infrastructure environments and strong capability engaging with councils and regulatory authorities.
You will bring
* A tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
* Experience preparing Development Applications and Deployment Code D6 and D8 assessments
* Strong knowledge of local, state and national planning legislation
* Experience undertaking environmental and heritage impact assessments
* Ability to manage constrained or red rated sites and resolve acquisition blockers
* High level written and verbal communication skills with councils and agencies
* A professional, team oriented approach with strong self management
Experience supporting mobile network deployment programs and high volume site portfolios will be highly regarded.
