Job Role:
The role of a Specialist Technician involves providing technical support services to the Department of Education.
This is an IT professional position requiring extensive experience, including at least 5 years' industry experience and previous involvement in similar projects or extensive experience within the education sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure within Department of Education schools, including network administration and server management as well as providing ICT support services to staff and students in large learning environments.
* Manage and service enterprise-scale Windows and Apple devices
* Administration and support of virtualized server environments using Hyper-V
* Management of various Windows and Linux based servers
* Cloud-based service administration and management using Google and Microsoft Services
* Mobile Device Management deployment and administration
* High-level enterprise network management skills required - Cisco and HP switches
* Administration of wireless network technologies, including controllers and access points using Cisco systems
* Excellent language and communication skills are essential for these roles
* Providing ICT support for enterprise volume desktop and notebook computers
* Extensive experience in operating system installation and image deployment, with advanced troubleshooting skills
* Previous industry experience in an educational setting is highly valued unless you have high levels of industry experience in a similar scale corporate environment
* Extensive knowledge and experience in Department and TSSP initiatives will be highly regarded
* Planning, deployment and management of 1:1 and BYOD devices in an enterprise scale environment will be very highly regarded
* Ability to plan and deliver ICT professional development sessions and work collaboratively with stakeholders when required
* Technical documentation writing skills
