Mill Operator
Windermere Oilseeds is a varied family run farming business specialising in the handling, storage, extraction and filtration of oilseeds alongside the production of lambs and cropping. The recent expansion of our oilseed processing capacity has provided an exciting opportunity for a mill operator to immediately join our team.
About the role
This role will be well suited to an applicant who likes to operate in a small team of 8-10 people, with varying backgrounds in the agriculture and trade sector. The successful applicant will be reporting directly to the Mill manager. Tasks will predominantly be completed in a rotating team of 2 depending on the skills required with some work to be completed individually.
Working in a modern processing facility responsibilities will include:
* Daily operational checks, tests and cleaning
* Control of processing equipment via site-wide SCADA
* Reporting of processing plant maintenance issues via CMMS software
* Maintaining the facility to SQF food safe standards
* Basic repair maintenance where required.
* Logistics / filling of Bulk oil tankers
* Loading of semi and B-double trucks with Telehandler
* A current car license is required. A forklift license would be advantageous
* Operating seed handling equipment and coordinating seed receivals
* Applicants must be 18 years or older due to machinery operation requirements
Skills and Experience
A base level of practical skills, the ability to use power tools and machinery awareness would be a strong advantage. A willingness to learn, enthusiasm and a passion for agriculture is important. Understanding this is a unique position, on the job training will be provided and some flexibility with working hours can be negotiated.
Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
