About the role
The purpose of the Bilingual Health Educator is to support the implementation of the ‘Health in My Language’ project. The Bilingual Health Educator will conduct various health education sessions and related activities in language with women in community settings.
The Health in My Language project aims to address health literacy, hesitancy, and barriers to service navigation faced by communities, with a specific focus on women from migrant and refugee backgrounds across Australia. These groups may include older adults, parents, caregivers, individuals of childbearing age or those who are pregnant, as well as people living in regional and rural areas.

You will bring

- Fluency in English and Arabic. Any additional languages would also be welcomed.
- Ability to facilitate and deliver in language workshops to a broad range of audiences on a range of health topics (full training on health topics will be provided)
- Excellent stakeholder and community engagement skills
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Proven organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the planning and coordination of information or training sessions
- Good written and verbal communication (English and Arabic) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to present information in a clear, comprehensive format
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames
- Ability to work under general supervision, autonomously and as part of a team within a matrix structure

Mandatory Requirements
A clearance to work with Children and a current Driver’s License is required for this role.
