Tell me about this role:
We are seeking a highly organised and results-oriented Sales Proposal Manager to lead the development of compelling and winning proposals that drive business growth. This role is instrumental in collaborating with sales, marketing, and technical teams to craft persuasive narratives and ensure timely and high-quality proposal submissions. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with exceptional communication skills and a passion for crafting persuasive business documents.
You will report to the Sales Centre Director, and work with a supportive team of proposal specialists and business development directors to communicate compelling solutions to our clients’ toughest problems.
What will I be doing day to day?
In this role, you'll be tackling a variety of important duties. Here's what you'll be focusing on:
* Managing the complete lifecycle of sales proposals, from initial requirements analysis to final submission, ensuring adherence to deadlines and client requirements.
* Collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary sales teams to understand client needs and develop tailored proposal strategies and win themes.
* Producing compelling and persuasive proposal content, effectively articulating our value proposition and differentiators.
* Coordinating input from subject matter experts across various departments, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information.
* Ensuring compliance with client solicitation requirements and company policies.
* Providing coaching and guidance to proposal team members.
* Maintaining and updating a library of proposal content, templates, and supporting documentation.
What sort of skills do I need?
To thrive in this role, you'll need a blend of education, skills, and experience. Here's what we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or industry qualifications awarded by bodies such as the Association of Proposal Management Professionals
* Minimum of five years’ experience in proposal management
* Experience with proposal planning, development, and post-submittal activities
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on persuasive writing
* Ability to develop and implement effective proposal strategies
* Knowledge of compliance and response matrices
* Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management software such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
Project management skills and familiarity with APMP or Shipley proposal development and best practices are a plus.
