About the Role

Progress Rail, a leading supplier of railroad products and services, is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Regional Managing Director - Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all locomotive sales and services operations in the region, with the primary goal of growing revenue and margin for Progress Rail.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in general management roles with a focus on sales and marketing activities in a capital-intensive sector. They should possess high energy levels, business acumen, and an entrepreneurial spirit, with a continuous improvement mentality. Additionally, they should be able to motivate and lead by example to facilitate team goals.

Sales and Operations Management

* Win and grow Progress Rail's locomotive sales, aftermarket sales, and services business in Asian countries including Indonesia, China, India, New Zealand, South Korea, and Bangladesh.
* Lead and execute business strategy for Progress Rail, providing hands-on aggressive leadership and managing a team of people as required.

Leadership and Team Management

* Coordinate and develop capabilities (direct and through partnerships) to offer expanded services in-country, for-country to maximize Progress Rail's regional Operating Profit after Capital Charge (OPACC).
* Create and maintain high-level and professional relationships with end customers.
* Negotiate commercial contracts with customers as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

* Australian or Indonesian work-authorised candidate with a minimum of bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
* Track record in general management roles with a focus on sales and marketing activities in a capital-intensive sector and winning contracts.
* Previous track record of building a start-up operation is highly desired.
