Primary objective
Provide a high level of administrative support to the Practice Development Directorate work unit.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work with other administrative support staff to ensure compliance with a range of administrative procedures and
practice requirements.
2. Establish and maintain administrative control systems and maintain records.
3. Facilitate planned and unplanned travel for all Department of Children and Families staff as required.
4. Provide purchasing support to the work unit and process payments in a timely manner either via purchase orders or via
corporate credit card.
5. Prepare basic correspondence for the work unit with a high level of attention to detail.
6. Provide a skilled reception service to the work unit.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level of motivation and ability to work independently at times with minimal supervision in a busy environment.
2. High level of oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously with people at all levels and
from diverse cultures.
3. Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage both an individual workload and the requirements of the work unit
along with quickly adapting to changing priorities.
4. High Level attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with/enter accurate and timely data.
5. High level computer skills, with proficiency in the various standard office software packages and computer systems.
6. Ability to work in a team and demonstrate sound judgement.
Desirable
1. An understanding of Department of Children and Families operations, including IT systems such as HP Records Manager,
TRIPS, NTG Pay, PIPS and eRecruit.
2. Current NT driver’s licence or ability to obtain.
