Job Description
The ideal candidate will be working collaboratively with our OHSE Officer ensuring compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards within our organisation. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment whilst maintaining operational targets. This role would be best suited to an individual wanting to kick start their career in work, health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ISO 45001.
- Maintain FIT Groups excellent safety culture ‘Think Safe’ which has been established over the past 5 years.
- Assist with internal compliance audits and yearly ISO re-certification audits.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist with site contractor inspections in NSW and ACT and interstate as required.
- Provide training and support to employees on OHSE practices and procedures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures, as necessary.
- Liaise with relevant regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with OHSE legislation as required.
- Monitor and evaluate OHSE performance through data analysis and reporting.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in occupational health, safety, and environmental management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
- Experience working in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of OHSE legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and OHSE management software.
