Job Overview:
The Cluster Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all creditors and other accounts.
This involves reconciliations to the Trial Balance, General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and supplier statements.
Additionally, maintaining and updating data in the Accounts Payable system and ensuring orderly filing of financial documentation is crucial.
The role requires preparing and submitting financial reports as needed for internal and head office reporting purposes.
Furthermore, overseeing Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Cashiering functions, including prompt collection and reconciliation of outstanding balances, is essential.
Regular credit meetings with department heads must be organized, and cost control procedures implemented and adhered to across departments.
Finally, assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc duties and support functions is an important aspect of the role.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
* Minimum 1 year's experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality sector
* Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
