Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Grid Connection Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the renewable energy transition and contribute to the growth of solar projects in Australia.
The successful candidate will provide support for grid connection (R0/R1/R2) negotiations, ensuring compliance with stakeholders, AEMO, and NSP. They will also attend to issue trackers and implement R1 design/modelling packages including Generator Performance Standards, SF start up and shut down procedures, Local Black Start, Energy Conversion Modelling, and all registration submissions for approval by AEMO/NSP.
The Grid Connection Manager will coordinate on-site commissioning activities, focusing on R2 validation GPS testing, reporting, and completion. They will lead and manage the grid connection process for solar power projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to develop grid connection strategies and ensure seamless project execution. They will also negotiate grid connection agreements, contracts, and permits with relevant authorities and monitor and mitigate grid connection risks such as voltage fluctuation, power quality issues, and interconnection challenges.
Responsibilities:
* Grid connection (R0/R1/R2) support, negotiation, and compliance with Stake holders/AEMO/NSP.
* Understand and attend to issue tracker.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in grid connection management within the solar or renewable energy industry.
* In-depth knowledge of grid connection regulations, standards, and practices in Australia.
* Strong understanding of power system studies, including grid modeling, fault analysis, and harmonic analysis.
* Familiarity with relevant software tools, such as PSS/E, DigSILENT, or ETAP, for grid connection analysis.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with various stakeholders and authorities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve grid connection challenges.
