CU designs and manages the delivery of community assets and infrastructure for Local Government. We create inspirational, functional and sustainable design outcomesfor the communitythrough our multi-disciplinary team approach.
About the role
Due to a period of rapid growth and opportunity, we are looking for a Senior Architect to join our SA team in our Adelaide office. The Senior Architect will perform all phases of architectural work including: client liaison, project planning, design and documentation. Further the role will include business development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
Key Responsbilities
* Meet client expectations by ensuring successful community outcomes by providing an inspirational, functional and sustainable design service.
* Manage projects from inception to completion.
* Manage project budgets and costs to ensure profitable delivery.
* Maintain regular client engagement to address project needs.
* Prepare feasibility reports and design proposals.
* Develop design concepts considering client needs, building use, budget and environmental impact.
* Produce detailed and high-quality project documentation packages for tender and construction.
* Produce specifications and schedules.
* Manage and co-ordinate sub-consultants.
* Manage and adhere to project budgets and timelines.
* Ensure that all works are carried out to the required standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.
* Grow the design team in SA.
* Mentor and guide junior members of the team.
* Maintain strong client relationships with Local and State Government, identifying business growth opportunities.
* Ensure that all matters relating to contracts, administration and project scheduling are met and that any issues are quickly resolved with minimum distraction.
* Apply and interpret legislative requirements relevant to urban development.
* Comply with CU company policies and the Integrated Management System, particularly with respect to Quality, WHS and Environmental standards.
Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture.
* 7-15 years post graduate experience.
* Registration with the Australian Institute of Architects(preferred but not essential).
* Community focused work experience, and local government relationships would be considered an advantage.
Skills
* Strong communication and project management skills.
* Strong skill and familiarity with design software (ArchiCAD, Adobe Photoshop, 3D graphics packages).
* Creativity and the ability to think and plan in three dimensions.
* Excellent building construction knowledge.
* Visual awareness and an eye for detail.
