Senior Housing Officer - Remote Communities

What you will do
- Tenancy management within each community including rental arrears management and property related tasks
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and support services to deliver effective assistance to customers.
- Administrative tasks including, vehicle booking, setting itineraries for outreach, workplace health and safety checks, data processing and maintaining electronic filing system.
- Managing housing allocations
- Mandatory requirement for travel every two weeks to Doomadgee and Mornington Island (Monday to Friday).
What we are looking for
- A candidate with a strong understanding of the cultural dynamics within remote communities and an appreciation for the importance of incorporating this knowledge into decision‑making processes.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with First Nations peoples, showcasing cultural sensitivity and respect in their approach.
- Solid computer knowledge and skills, with an ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
- A strong team player who works effectively within a team, Housing Service Centre and stakeholders.
- A solid ability to understand and support others, particularly in sensitive or challenging situations.

Extensive training will be provided via mandatory online training as well as peer support. Our work is not “just a job” we are looking for people who want a career in supporting our most vulnerable Queenslanders.
