A recognised architectural practice is seeking an experienced Architect to join its Perth studio and take a lead role across major retail-led projects. With a strong presence in Western Australia and a secure pipeline of work, this opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in shaping high-profile developments that contribute to the public realm and broader community outcomes.
This role will suit an Architect with solid local experience who is confident working across all project stages and ready to step into a leadership-focused position within a collaborative studio environment.
About the Role
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will lead projects across a range of scales and typologies, with a particular focus on retail and mixed-use developments. You'll be involved from early design through to delivery, balancing design intent with technical resolution, programme, and commercial considerations.
The role includes responsibility for coordinating consultants, overseeing documentation quality, supporting project financial performance, and fostering strong collaboration across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead architectural projects across retail and mixed-use sectors
* Manage projects across all stages, from concept through to construction
* Coordinate consultants and liaise with clients and stakeholders
* Ensure high-quality documentation and technical resolution
* Maintain compliance with BCA, Australian Standards, and Council requirements
* Support project financial performance, resourcing, and delivery programmes
* Provide leadership and mentoring to project team members
* Contribute to design development and innovative technical solutions
Skills & Experience
* Australian architectural registration (WA preferred)
* 5–8 years' experience within the Australian / WA market
* Background in retail projects preferred, but not essential
* Strong knowledge of BCA, Australian Standards, and local authority requirements
* Advanced proficiency in Revit
* Experience with Enscape and Adobe Creative Suite
* Working knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper beneficial
* Demonstrated experience leading small project teams
* Strong understanding of project development and construction processes
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships
* A collaborative leadership style and passion for high-quality design outcomes
