Train Maintainers will carry out corrective and preventative maintenance work on the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Railway Network vehicles at the Dry Creek Rail Car Depot or Seaford Testing & Commissioning Depot with the aim of ensuring the fleet is running safely, efficiently and conforming to relevant industry standards.
Responsibilties:
Carry out scheduled Corrective & Preventative Maintenance activities on passenger railcars and equipment in accordance with Technical Maintenance Plan, including;
- checking the operation and assessing the condition of equipment
- fault find electrical/mechanical systems
- correcting faults
- completing an inspection reports
- take any necessary samples for laboratory analysis
- Carry out unscheduled Corrective Maintenance as directed by the Service Coordinator
- Drive, fuel or pilot passenger railcars within Dry Creek Depot. Drive or pilot passenger railcars within Seaford Testing & Commissioning Depot. Stable railcars if they are to be left unattended
- Implement engineering modifications
- Identify material and replacement parts requirements and liaise with the Inventory Controller to "pick" required inventory items from the warehouse. Complete all transaction documentation, especially the recording of retable assets.
- Conduct specified performance test, including audio, visual and load tests, and recording of all test results
- Update computer history file to reflect any changes to the status of passenger trains
- Supervision and training of apprentices and Train Support employees
- Assist with emergency recovery of vehicles
- Assist with in-service fault-finding and fixing
- Assist with major fault finding
- Make and participate in recommendations to site management on methods and procedures with a view to more efficient operation of the facility
Competencies & Skills
- Complete tasks first time, every time to a safe and reliable standard
- Must be a forward thinker, able to work with mínimal supervision
- Must be a team player
- Must be willing to work a 22/7 roster with reasonable expectation for relief shifts and overtime shifts
Mandatory:
- Trade qualified (Mech, Elec, Coachbuilder etc.)
- SA driving license
- Excellent Communications and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English
